22 weeks... almost a foot and a pound!

Georgia is a mover!! Lately this girl has been dancing around in my belly like she's practicing her tumbling skills! Last night, Michael was able to feel her move for the first time! And even better, we were able to SEE her bouncing around in my belly. It was the neatest thing yet. And now, people are telling me that as I get further along, we'll be able to tell if it's a foot or hand or booty! This sweet little girl keeps amazing us!

So, this past week we ordered the glider and ottaman. It's such a relief to get this small task done b/c now we have all the major items (crib, dresser, glider, etc.) picked out and purchased! It's not all in yet but should be in the next few weeks. Now, I can concentrate on the bedding and making it all come together. I also finally took a leap of faith and ordered the bumper. I say this b/c I have been very indecisive. I figured I would go ahead and have the bumper made and maybe that will help me decide what I want for the skirt... And then once that is done, the rest will come together. Anyways, we chose a pale pink linen for the bumper (front & back). It will have a 2" ivory linen ruffle at the top and 3" large ivory ties. Very classic and it's so pretty!

Oh yeh, our doctor's appt! It went great... still measuring right on. The heart rate ranged from 140's to 160's depending on her level of movement.

Baby's size: 11 inches, the length of a spaghetti squash and 1 pound
Eating habits/cravings: I am loving cherry limeades from Sonic... couldn't get enough of them this past week! In fact, I could have one right now and be a very happy girl.
Mood/Energy: Feeling great still!
Things to look forward to: Or not... our next visit is March 11 (26 weeks) - I have to take the glucose test - YUCK! I've heard it's terrible... but some say it's not so bad. We shall see in 4 weeks!
Also, our trip to the Bahamas has been rescheduled for February 21-26 so we're definitely looking forward to that. Unfortunately, the day before we were suppose to leave, Michael's boss told him that they really needed him at work the next week. At least he's valuable!! :) It all worked out and now we just have one more week to get pumped!
Also, our first baby shower will be March 19. So excited!! We are very blessed with great friends.
Major development this week: Your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

20 Weeks... Officially half way there! Woo Hoo

It seems so crazy that I'm already half way through this pregnancy. However, I keep reminding myself that the "easy" half is the half that has passed. The "hard" part is yet to come... that's when birth comes! :) I really don't think this next half will be hard, it will just be busy. Now that we know we're having a sweet little girl, we can start buying and planning and decorating! All these things I've waited on, and now it seems like there is so much to do and so little time! But, I'm staying calm and positive, knowing that it will all get done. I just want everything to be perfect and complete well in advance of her arrival.
A few updates this week: Michael painted the baby room on Sunday. We chose a Sherwin-Williams paint called Intimate White... it's a very, very faint pink. We can't really tell if it's a keeper yet. I'm sure if you asked Michael, he would say YES b/c he is the one who spent 3-4 hours painting it. However, we are going to wait for her dresser/changing table to arrive before we decide if we want to change it. It's just really hard to tell with only an empty crib, without baby bedding, in the room to tell if we like it.
Whew... baby bedding, that's another whole story! I've officially hit a brick wall with my creativity. I've been looking very forward to getting the nursery ready but I can't decide on ANYTHING! I've looked at a million different fabrics, a million different already made crib sets, and nothing is appealing to me. So, I've decided to take a break from it for a while... at least for a few days. I'm grounding myself from all fabric stores and from googling crib bedding on the internet. I'm hoping this will set me straight.
Also, we plan to register this Saturday... so I'm sure next week's blog update will be full of fun-filled stories from that day! We are still so clueless!
Little miss Georgia has already started moving more. At first, I couldn't tell if it was her moving or if it was just my stomach doing some weird stuff. But I can definitely tell the two apart now. It's so neat, last night I was lying down getting ready to fall asleep and she started moving like crazy. I just laid there in awe. Michael was already asleep so I didn't wake him... I'm not even sure if he'd be able to feel her yet. I can't wait for him to be able to though... he will love it! Maybe that's what she'll give him for Valentine's Day!

Baby's size: Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against her torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of her head to her bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, she's measured from head to toe.)
Eating habits/cravings: My latest craving... Waffles. I've never even liked waffles. When given the choice of waffles or pancakes, without a doubt I chose pancakes. Not anymore!. I also love tomatoes now. I've NEVER liked them.. I always order things "without mayonnaise and tomatoes please"... and I still do it by habit and I'll get so upset b/c I want the tomatoes now! Weird. Still hate mayonnaise though, don't worry. :)
Mood/Energy: Great! No complaints from me right now. However, I did forget to mention on the last blog update that I found out I'm anemic when I went in for the 18 week visit. It's not that big of a deal, pregnancy induced anemia can be common. It shouldn't cause any problems as long as I take my additional iron supplement daily.
Things to look forward to: Our next appointment is Friday, February 11. I scheduled it for Friday b/c the Monday I normally would go, we will be in the Bahamas... that's definitely something we're looking forward to. :)
Major development this week: She's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in her bowels, and you'll see it in her first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
